The new album's release date has finally been confirmed, and we even have a title. I'll try to cover all this now:

"When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won't Matter, 'Cuz You'll Know That You're Right, will be released on November 9th! The album was produced by Jon Brion. The first single from the new album will be "Fast As You Can"
Well I guess that just about covers that, yes, Fiona's new album has a ninety-word title, the title is a poem that Fiona recited before Sleep To Dream on her last tour.

The video for Fast As You Can
Was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who, of course, most of you should know, is Fiona's boyfreind. The video is set to debut on October 4th.
A Mention in Rolling Stone:
The whole album title is a bloody ninety words long, but fortunately the music on Apple's second effort is more focused. Working again with producer Jon Brion, Apple and her piano return to confession, riding a roller coaster of raw emotion and sound.
Fiona Tour
Never Is A Promise adds to this pre-album hysteria that Fiona will be going on tour in February 2000!
Never is a Promise also adds that there will be 10 tracks on the new album, and that it will be released under the label Clean Slate/Epic. They also claim that the official website, Fiona-Apple.com, will be expanding very soon with a new biography including Fiona's own thoughts on making the new album. I'll keep you posted!

Fast As You Can Video Premeire

Fiona's new video for "Fast As You Can" will premier on MTV's Total Request Live on Friday, October 1st at 3:30pm & 8:00pm! The VH1 premiere will happen on "New Music Monday" on October 4th at 8:00am & 2:00pm! The new video will also be available on The Box starting on Monday October 4th at 12:00am, selection #557! Make sure you check it out!
So everyone tune in! Two days til we get to see the video! They also state that they'll have a clip of the new song up on the official site, but Lane has it in real audio, so everyone go to Fionahaswings.com, hehehe...
